Drug Firm's Allen Casey Is Dead at 62
Allen M. Casey, 62 clinical research coordinator with William S. Merrell Pharmaceutical Co., died Thursday in a private hospital.
Mr. Casey, formerly area divisional manager for Merrell in Atlanta, had been with the company 36 years. He had been in the pharmaceutical industry 44 years.
A native of Arkansas and a graduate of the University of Arkansas, Mr. Casey had lived in Atlanta 45 years. His residence was at 4883 Roswell Road Northeast.
He was a Mason and was a member of Morningside Baptist Church, the Atlanta Drug and Chemical Club and the Elks Club of Clearwater, Fla. He was president of the Pharmaceutical Traveling Men's Association of Georgia and Florida and was on the advisory board of the Southern College of Pharmacy.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Lowndes chapel with Dr. James P. Wesberry and Father Patrick C. Connell officiating.
He is survived by his wife, the former Dee Scarbrough.
