Nicholas V. Hutchinson died of a sudden heart attack in his home here at nine o'clock Sunday morning. He was 72 years of age.
Funeral services were conducted at 4:00 p. m. Monday at Moore Memorial Methodist Church, with Rev. Roy A. Grisham, pastor, assisted by Rev. R. S. Lowe, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, and Rev. C. B. Hamlet, pastor of the First Baptist Church, Winona, officiating. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery.
Formerly traffic manager of the Columbus & Greenville Railroad, Mr. Hutchinson retired in 1939 after a long period of service. He came to Winona as a youth. December 15, 1999, he married Miss Emma Peacock of Winona, and they made this city their home through the years. Mr. Hutchinson was born in Salem, Ala.
The deceased was a devout member of the Moore Memorial Methodist Church, serving as chairman of the Board of Stewards, president of the Men's Bible Class and a member of the Board of Trustees. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge here.
Surviving him are: his wife; a son, N. V. Hutchinson of Silver Springs, Maryland; two granddaughters, Ann and Judy Hutchinson of Silver Springs; and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Anderson of Tampa, Florida,
