Born July 17, 1926 in Laurens County, he was a son of Mrs. Edith Lott Adair and the late John Lloyd Adair Sr. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and was a rural mail carrier and farmer. He was a member of Liberty Springs Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Laurens County Farm Bureau. He was a member and director of the Cross Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He also formerly served two terms on the board of School District 56 in Clinton.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home and his mother of Clarkton, N.C., are two sons, Jimmy Adair and John Lloyd Adair III both of the home; two daughters, Nancy Adair of Taylors and Mrs. Emil (Mary Lou) Finley of Laurens; two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Margaret) Patrick of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Frances McCallum of Clarkton, N.C.; and two grandchildren.
Services wil be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Springs Presby- terian Church with the Rev. Terry Baxley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John Livingston, Frank Pittman, Perry Simpson, Dan Shankle, David Sexton, Ernie Austin, Charles Oxner, Ken Underwood and Will Irby Smith.
Honorary escort will be members of the Cross Hill Volunteer Fire Department.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Blyth Funeral Home.
The body is at the funeral home and will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
