Alice I. “Hon” Aikey, 91, of Warrensville, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at UPMC Williamsport.

Cause of death aspiration pneumonia.

Alice was born on Jan. 6, 1929 in Exchange, and was the daughter of Daniel and Florence Umstead Adams.

She was a graduate of Turbotville High School in 1946. She was a practical nurse having worked at the former Lysock View and Manor Care. She also worked for Rayovac, Stroehmann Bakeries, GTE Sylvania, Montoursville, and retired from Grumman. She liked to visit Brethren in Christ Church. Alice enjoyed watching westerns, traveling, doing puzzles, Chinese checkers, crocheting and sewing. She was an avid reader, liked to teach ceramics in her home, and sitting on her front porch swing visiting with her neighbors. The most important part of her life was being with her family.

She is survived by six children, James (Barb) Aikey of Muncy, Sarah (Jack) Rooney of Trout Run, Dannie (Laurie) Aikey of Montoursville, David (Sandra) Aikey of Trout Run, Roy (Venessa) Aikey of Cogan Station, and Audrey (Robert) Earnest of Warrensville; 22 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Dewald of Lewisburg, Mary Lou Byers of Exchange, Doris Rogers of Hughesville, and Ora Mae Winfield of Muncy. In addition, there are several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Timothy and Larry Aikey; brothers, Franklin and Dean Adams; sister, Lorraine High; and a granddaughter, Jessica Aikey.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 26, at Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport, from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be in Muncy Cemetery on Monday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eric Hartshaw of Brethren in Christ Church officiating with James Lilley assisting.

The family will provide flowers and suggest donations be made to Church of the Nazarene, 4477 Muncy Exchange Road, Turbotville, PA 17772.
