Joint Funeral Arranged For Mother And Infant

Joint funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Ann Meadows, 42, of Route 1, Shady Spring, who died at 12:05 a.m. Sunday in a local hospital, and her infant daughter, who died at birth Saturday afternoon, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the New Salem Church at Abraham with the Rev. Oliver Tedder officiating. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery.
Born at Price Hill Jan. 26, 1920, Mrs. Meadows was a member of the Nimitz Baptist Church.
Survivors include the husband and father, William Howard Meadows; the father and grandfather, Sam Adkins of White Oak; seven brothers and uncles, Jessie Adkins of Prosperity, Kessler and Eugene, both of White Oak, Franklin of Webster Springs, Johnnie of Bellewood, Clyde of Shady Spring, and Donald of Columbus, Ohio; two sisters and aunts, Mrs. Otis Plumley of Shady Spring and Miss Glennabell Adkins of Prosperity; four sons and brothers, Keith of White Oak, Robert of Cleveland, and Harold of Fort
Meade, Md., and Edsel of Shady Spring; three daughters and sisters, Mrs. Wesley Richmond, of Cleveland, Ohio, Ruth Ann Adkins, of Shady Spring and Mrs. Carol Sue Meadows of Shady Spring; three step-daughters and stepsisters, Mrs. Grethel Lester of Helen, Mrs. Lorna Kite of Muncy, Ind. and Mrs. Ivory Grose of Maryland; six grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and seven step-grandchildren and step-nieces and nephews.
The bodies will be removed from the Webb and Neal Funeral Home at 4 p.m. today to the home;
Pallbearers will be Sherman Walker, Lester Plumley, Reo Plumley, Kenneth Adkins, Russell Adkins, Marvin Hopkins, R. E. Miller, and Clarence Bragg.
