RITES THURSDAY FOR VERONICA ACQUARD -- A mass of Christian burial will be offered for Veronica Acquard at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester, with the Rev. Frank Wampach officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bellechester. Veronica C. Acquard, 83, a resident of Woodside Convalescent Center, died of natural causes Monday afternoon (Dec. 28, 1992) in St. Mary's Hospital Emergency Room. The former Veronica Catherine Befort was born April 29, 1909, in Bellechester. She spent most of her adult life working in the Rochester area in various occupations, including housework she performed for several doctors. On Sept. 24, 1936, she married Alfred Acquard at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bellechester. After retiring, Mrs. Acquard became a foster grandparent to retarded children. She was a member and past president of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Rochester. Mr. Acquard died April 9, 1960. Survivors include a daughter, Betty Mielke of Bloomington, Minn.; a son, William C. of Charlottesville, Va.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Josephine Hofschulte of Mazeppa; and two brothers, Anton Befort of Wabasha and Lawrence Befort of Red Wing. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a granddaughter, four sisters and four brothers
