Car wreck claims life of longtime Winona resident

Mrs. Marie Dorris Jaco, 67, wife of Charles M. Jaco, retired postmaster of Winona, was killed in an automobile accident at Russellville, Ala. Saturday, while on their way to visit a son at Decatur, Ala.

Services were held Tuesday at the Moore Memorial Methodist Church with burial in Oakwood Cemetery and Lee Funeral Home in charge.

Mrs. Jaco had lived most of her life in Winona and was a member of Moore Memorial Methodist Church. Her husband was also injured in the crash, but was able to attend the funeral.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Jaco leaves two sons, Charles M. Jaco Jr., of the United States legation in Berne Switzerland, and Ben P. Jaco of Decatur, Ala.; three sisters, Mrs. J. D. Applewhite of Macon, Ga., Mrs. John Gibson of Nashville, Tenn., and Mrs. Birdie Ely of Winona; a brother, R. B. Dorris of Memphis; and three grandchildren.
