Jobe Morlan, whose remains were brought to this city from Aurora, Mo., and placed in the city cemetery on Tuesday last, was one of the first settlers on the Creek, having located at the Morlan springs, south of town, soon after the close of war. He was born in Hancock county, Ohio, May 18, 1830, moved to Michigan and from there to Christian Co., Mo., where he enlisted in the Union Army in 1862, serving until discharged for disability in '64. Funeral services held under the auspices of the Grand Army, Elder W. H. South officiating. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
