RIMERSBURG - Fred R. Garver, 76, of Rimersburg RD 1, died Monday morning in the Clarion Hospital, following a short illness. He was born Jan. 21, 1894, in Rimersburg, the son of Jacob and Amanda Harriger Garver and lived in Rimersburg all his life. He is survived by three brothers: Chester A. and Thurston of Rimersburg RD1 and Clair of Mars. A sister, Mrs. Mildred Grossman of Butler, survives him as do several nieces and nephews. Mr. Garver was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters. Friends may call anytime at the J.D. Miller Funeral Home in Rimersburg and the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the home. Rev. J.C. Himes of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Wildcat, officiating. Interment will be in the Lawsonham cemetery. Source: 7/28/1970 Oil City Derrick
