Tulia, Texas- Delbert Warren Morris, 75, passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25th in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Rev. Bryan West will be officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

Delbert was born on December 23, 1944 in Paducah to Jasper D.W. and Virginia Vinson Morris. He lived in Paducah before moving to Bovina in the fifth grade where he later attended and graduated from Bovina High School. On June 9, 1963 he married the love of his life Laticia "Tish" Lehenbauer. Delbert graduated from the DPS School and became a Texas State Trooper. He served Swisher County his entire career which span from 1965 to 1995. He was the only state trooper to start and finish his career in the same county. After retiring from the DPS, Delbert served as the District Attorney Investigator for Castro County from 1997 to 2007.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Charlette Middleton and Bonnie Scaff and one brother: Jerry Morris.

He is survived by his wife: Tish Morris of the home, three children: Renee Robertson and husband Corey Robertson of Lubbock, Daren Morris and wife Stacy Morris of Amarillo and Nicki Sturgess and husband Brian Sturgess of Happy, one sister: Krita Potts of Friona, seven grandchildren: Reagan and Rylee Robertson, Deegan and Dillon Morris, Chandler Reyes and husband Cameron, Chesney and Chisom Sturgess and one great granddaughter: Sutton Reyes.
