Augusto (Gus) Pascucci was born in 1922 in Huntington, Massachusetts (MA), USA. The family later moved to Worthington St. Springfield, MA. He attended local Springfield schools and then joined the U.S. Naval submarine service during World War II and served in the Pacific fleet. While in port in Perth, Western Australia he met his future wife, Winnie. After marriage they resided in Springfield, MA where their daughter Cheryl was born. In the late 1940's Gus joined the Springfield Fire Department. In the mid 1960's the family relocated to Perth, Western Australia where he resided until his death in 2006.
