SHELBY — Maggie Mauney Parker, 90, of Shelby died Friday, Aug. 17, 2007, at Hospice at Wendover.
Born in Cleveland County, she was a homemaker. Maggie was a member of Lily Memorial Baptist Church. Maggie was a very loving wife, mother and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by parents, Marcus Samuel Mauney and Mary Mahalia Gragg Mauney; brothers, Yates, J.D., Noah, M.B., Clyde, Bailey and Palmer Mauney; sisters, Ola Mae Pearson, Ethel Guthrie, Alice Crotts, Lillian Parker, Georgianna Bess, Byrdie Jane Bess, and Mamie Bess; and nephew, John Parker.
She is survived by her husband of more than 65 years, Robert Lee Parker; daughter, Elizabeth Annette Parker of Shelby; sister, Daisie King of Hendersonville; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.
Funeral: Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Chapel
Burial: Sunset Cemetery
