Last rites for James Ezra Baker who passed away March 13th at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Baker Shappley, were held at the residence on Monday afternoon, March 14th, with the Rev. J. M. Metts and the Rev. H. B. Vincent officiating. Interment was in Oakwood cemetery with Lee Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers were Robert Reese, Jack Batehelor, J. C. Harris, W. M. Baskin, and H. B. Sandidge.

Mr. Baker was born in Des Moines, Iowa, May 30th, 1872. On September 13, 1896, he married the former Miss Alberta Boothe who survives. Besides his wife and daughter, he leaves two sisters, Mrs. Eltie Morris in California and Mrs. Charles Wilburn of Williford, Ark.; a brother, William Baker, Little Rock, Ark.; a granddaughter, Mrs. Lois Shappley Bain; and a great-great granddaughter, Claudette Bain.
