[Pensacola] Mary Louise Stryker passed away on July 21, 2020 at the age of 88.
She was born Mary Louise Alexander on July 19, 1932 in Saint Mary’s, Illinois, to Dewey and Ethel Alexander. Mary lived the first part of her life in Illinois, growing up in a small farming community, marrying and starting a family there. She moved to Pensacola in 1970 (as Mary Bunch) with her two children, where she lived in Pleasant Grove to be near her parents and brother.
Mary faced and met the challenges of being a single mom, working first as a bookkeeper and then with Escambia County. Workplace connections there led to her meeting her beloved husband, Frank Stryker, whom she married in 1976.
She became part of a large and loving family in this second phase of her life, enjoying the pleasures of companionship with Frank and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, neighbors and friends. Frank preceded her in death on June 30 of this year.
In addition to Frank, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, and step-son Randy. Mary is survived by her son David (Michelle) of Davis, CA; daughter Cheryl; step-children Ronnie and Susie; step-daughter-in-law Lorene, all of Pensacola; and eight grandchildren, Ben, Isaac, Jason, Jennifer, Kelly (Walt), Katie, Cody (Amy), and Jake; as well as six great-grandchildren, Christian, Brook, Summer, Caislynn, Ryker, and Bo.
