Sabine Alston Goodman Andrews

Sabine Alston Goodman Andrews died Saturday, July 18, 2020 at the age of 96. She was the daughter of the late William Hardin Goodman and Sabine Alston Nichols Goodman of Jacksonville, Florida. She was educated in Jacksonville and at Mary Baldwin College. She enjoyed a brief career in business prior to her marriage to Dr. Mason Cooke Andrews of Norfolk in 1949. Mrs. Andrews participated in numerous civic, cultural and church activities and compiled a short history of the founding of the Eastern Virginia Medical School From Where I Stood. She was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Alston Andrews of Walnut Creek, CA. and Mason McDonald Andrews of Norfolk; by two grandsons, Ilyas Mason Khan and Alston Cooke Underwood; by her brother William Hill Goodman of Asheville, NC; by her two sons-in-law Alan Khan, MD and J. William Underwood III. The family would like to express their gratitude to her devoted caregivers Carolyn Dickens, Lutzi Randolph, Frances Taylor and Tina Armstrong, who have extended the traditions of care and kindness of Alice Martin Guy, friend and household manager since 1955. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 22nd in Elmwood Cemetery with the Reverend Julia Dorsey Loomis officiating.
