Phyllis A. Ditty, 67, of New Paris, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Wayne Hospital in Greenville after an extended illness. Born Oct. 1, 1930, in Camden, she was the daughter of William and Ollie (Hensley) Peters. She was a cook at several local truck stops for over 20 years.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, LaVerne F. Ditty; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert A. and Scherie Peters of New Madison, James E. and Patty Ditty of New Madison and Frank W. Ditty of Richmond, Ind.; daughters, Marilyn A. Ditty and friend Steve Schmidt of New Paris, and Linda S. Woodyard of New Madison; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Ed Peters of California; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe, Lester, Robert, James and Ernest Peters; and three sisters, Betty Puckett, Helen Peters and Pauline Cole.

Funeral services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Barnes Funeral Home-New Paris Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
