John Ross Blunk, 73, died October 8, 2016 in Portland, Oregon. He was born March 4, 1943 in Louisville, the only son of Alvin Carl Blunk and Rebecca Catherine Ross. He graduated from Waggener High School in 1961 and the University of Louisville’s J.B. Speed School of Engineering in 1966. Mr. Blunk worked as a chemical engineer for the Stauffer Chemical Company and later Akzo Nobel in a career spanning 40+ years which allowed him the opportunity to travel the world, working on projects in Russia, Europe, China and Southeast Asia. Mr. Blunk was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Lou Owen. A celebration of life will be held in the English Grill private dining room of the Brown Hotel on Saturday July 1, from 2pm-5pm. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
