Obituary: RICHARD (DICK) GLEN ALLEN

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, March 16, 2006 in Henderson, Nevada. He was born on August 1, 1926 in Bothwell, Utah, a son of Leslie William and Delia Deem Allen. He graduated from Bear River High School.
Dick married his high school sweetheart, Rita Mae Grover on December 19, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple. In January 1945, Dick was called into active duty with the Air Force. After the war ended, Dick and Rita moved to California where Dick worked in the aerospace industry which involved lots of world travel and projects like the Niki Zeus Anti Missile Missile, Sklylab and the Navy's Phalynx System Program. Ten days before their 50th wedding anniversary, Rita passed away from cancer.
Dick was always a good fisherman and their family was raised on fishing and camping trips. Dick was always a competitor both in archery and league bowling. He made his own bows for archery competition, and also enjoyed painting. In 1995, Dick's brother in law, Hank Clough, introduced Dick to Dallas Olsen of Ogden, Utah. They met at Denny's and it was love at first sight. They were married after a short courtship.
He is survived by his wife, Dallas of Henderson, NV; two sons and two daughters, James Richard (Terry) Allen of Ogden, UT; Curtis Neal (Ofelia) Allen of Henderson, NV; Sandra (Kerry) Donaldson of North Las Vegas, NV; Jennette (Clark) Grover of Blanding, UT; 25 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; two sisters, Lois A. Bolingbroke of Phoenix, AZ and Hope (Hank) Clough of Ogden, UT. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William Lewis Allen and Leslie Delbert Allen.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at 12 Noon at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 Eat 200 South, Brigham City, UT. Friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at the funeral chapel. Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the VFW Post 1695 Honor Guard.
