He was born in Wayne County, the son of Frank & Mary McCormic Hower. He married Barbara Maloy Dec. 27, 1954, in Cisne, and she survives.
He was assistant foreman at Sparton Mfg. in Flora. He was a Korean War Veteran & a former member of the Clay City Village Board.
In additon to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sandy Bayler and Abigail Hower; a sister, Agnes Bauman; his mother Mary Lambert; and two grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his father & several brothers and sisters.
Services were held at Hosselton-Bookhout-Engelmeier Funeral Home in Clay City with Bro. Cecil Cochran presiding.
Burial was in German Cemetery in Enterprise, IL.
