Charles F. Van Fossan of Sumner, but a lifetime resident of Enterprise near Cisne died at Olney Hospital. He had been hospitalized a number of times in the past for treatment of cancer.

He was a retired barber. He was an uncle of Mrs. Norman Massie.

He was born in Wayne County, the son of William L. & Eliza Jane Markham Van Fossan.

He married Milda Duke on October 10, 1917. They had four children.

He lived most of his life in the Enterprise area but the past year lived at Sumner.

He is survived by his wife, sons Charles Nearl & William Glenn; daughters Ruth Poling & Willina Henson; a brother, Walter; a sister Ella Wells; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and a sister.

Funeral services were at the Sivert Funeral Home with burial & graveside military rites at the German Evangelical Cemetery at Enterprise.
