Cremation rites have been accorded. Due to the special circumstances of COVID, a private family Memorial Mass will be on Monday, July 20, 2020 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morrison, with Rev. Father Slawomir Zimodro officiating. Interment will be in Grove Hill Cemetery in Morrison. The Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
June was born August 30, 1933 in Garden Plain, IL, to Jason and Ella (Damhoff) Bennett.
She attended Morrison grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School. On September 20, 1952 she married Clarence W. “Jr.” Gorzney in Morrison. He died October 22, 1999. June was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Morrison. She and her husband loved to travel and after retirement they enjoyed trips to their cottage on Lake Superior in Michigan and RV trips to Arizona. June belonged to a card club for 49 years and enjoyed meeting daily with her friends for coffee. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established by the family.
Survivors include three daughters, Debra (Mark) Merritt, Marie (Dave) Tyler and Carol (Dale) Gustafson; thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; one sister, Belle Claudon and one brother, John Bennett.
