He attended Demopolis High School and Livingston University in Alabama.
He was a USAF Weapons System Officer, served in the Vietnam War and later joined the USAF Reserves for a combined 32 year service record.
Steve leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 38 years, daughter, son-in-law and three grandchildren, and two sisters, along with many friends including his hunting, fishing and golfing good buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Richard Terry Owens.
