Buddy Boehm, 72, of Hallettsville, passed away July 13, 2020. He was born on March 24, 1948, to Rudolph J. & Agnes Seger Boehm, but was raised by Henry & Minnie Seger, in Hallettsville. He married Carolyn Lange on August 15, 1970 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville.

Buddy touched many lives through his music. He was a member of multiple bands including Herbert Kloesel and the Knights of Dixie, Johnny Bush and the Bandoleros, the Country Knights, Moonglow Orchestra, Nite Session and Opry Show bands in Yoakum, Giddings, Refugio, Edna, Cuero, and Industry. He shared the stage with many legends including Johnny Bush, Willie Nelson, Frenchie Burke and many more. His piano was even played by Ray Charles.

Buddy owned Buddy's TV and Communications for 44 years before retiring. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life he was an active member of the Lion's Club and President of the Rotary Club. He was also one of the original members of the Lavaca County Rescue Service. He was also a member of the Texas Peace Officers Association.

Buddy and Carolyn sent all of their children through Sacred Heart School. When it came time for the SHS Band tamale sale, he always enjoyed driving to San Antonio and back to pick up the trailer-full of tamales. While he had many children of his own, Buddy was known for adopting all of their friends and taking in anyone who needed the love of a father. He was a kind and caring man who loved his wife and family very much.

Buddy is survived by: his wife Carolyn; 6 children, Steven Boehm & wife Laurie, Deacon Daniel Boehm & wife Jennifer, Sarah Holmes & husband John, Matthew Boehm, Rachel Boehm, and Laura Boehm; 7 grandchildren, Dustin, Brooke, Kayla, Robyn, Tricia, Alyssa and John; and 1 great grandchild Peyton.

Buddy was preceded in death by: his parents, his uncle Henry & aunt Minnie Seger, brother Edward Nesrsta, and 3 sisters: Martha Lynn Head, Lucy Ann Lucas, and Barbara Hajek.

Funeral Mass Service (All attendees must wear masks): 10:30 am, Friday, July 17, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville; with Rosary starting at 10 am. Visitation: 5 pm, Thursday, at Kubena Funeral Home. Officiant: Msgr. John Peters. Memorials: Donor's Choice. Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
