He was born August 21, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Frank and Bertha Arzberger.
He proudly served his nation in the US Army and was later employed as a Carpenter, specializing in cabinetry in Queens, NY.
August is survived by his son Robert (Marge) Arzberger of Long Island, a daughter Karen (Bob) Powers of Broadalbin; 5 grandchildren, Danny (Sharon), Scott (Ariel), Melissa (Dan), Jeff (Laura) and Bryan; 5 great-grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Gus was predeceased by his loving wife Elizabeth Menger Arzberger and his granddaughter Lisa Hayes.
A service of committal, with military honors will take place at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871.
