Agatha “Gay” Ellen Garrett, 83 years, of Hominy, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at her residence in Hominy, Oklahoma.

Gay was born in Muleshoe, Texas on April 3, 1937 to Henry Lee and Esther Ellen Reynolds. Their family ran a local café in Hominy, Lee’s Café for over 30 years. She graduated from Hominy High School in 1955.

Gay married in 1957 to Kenneth Garrett. They then had three children together, Diana, Lisa and David. In 1964 the Garrett family moved to Venezuela where they raised their children for 15 years. Gay and Kenneth returned to Hominy in 1986. She was then a seamstress for Munsing Wear for many years. She was an avid book reader. She was also known for her sharp wit and her sense of humor.

Gay is survived by: daughters, Diana Garrett, Lisa and husband Tom Weaver; son, David and wife Laura Garrett; one granddaughter; four grandsons.

Gay is preceded in death by: husband, Kenneth Garrett; parents, Henry Lee and Esther Ellen Reynolds; brothers, Dennis and Doyle; sister, Patty.

Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM, Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the A.J. Powell Memorial Cemetery with Wayne Brown officiating.
