Bessie Matson
Bessie Matson, 78, the mother of local businessman Jack Matson, passed away at Elmhurst Hospital in Angola, Indiana, about 4AM Saturday. October 14. She was a lifelong resident of Steuben County, Indiana and was organist of the First Baptist Church of Indiana, at Pleasant Lake, for over 50 years. She was active in church and music activities in Steuben County all her life. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Paul Chase [Chasey] of Bryan, Ohio, a son, Jack Matson of Hillsboro six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2PM Monday at the First Baptist Church in Pleasant Lake, Indiana under the direction of Weicht Funeral Home of Angola, Indians. Burial followed at Pleasant Lake Cemetery.
