In Loving Memory of Benjamin Greenwood Walker May 18, 1926 - Mar. 20, 2009 Ben died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. He will remain an inspiration and role model to those who knew and loved him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth. He is survived by his second wife of 19 years, Irene, his children, Paul Walker, Rebecca Fujinami, Peter Walker and Sarah King, 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. As a resident of Pasadena since 1964 he served his community through involvement in the Boy Scouts, the Pasadena High School instrumental music program and PTA, and the Sierra Madre Villa Association. He was a leader, a problem solver and a man of action. Ben worked in the Aerospace industry for General Electric, Aerojet-General and SDC. He loved his work as an engineer and manager, and continued with complex computer projects after his retirement in 1985. As a descendant of educators, he was passionate about learning a nd supported others in their efforts to achieve higher education. He enjoyed several bowling leagues in Pasadena through the years. He was the youngest and last surviving sibling of a family of 14 children from Pleasant Grove, Utah. A memorial service will be held at his home on April 5, 2009 at 1 PM at 3259 Barhite St., Pasadena, 91107.
