Betty Stoklosa Lutschewitz, 89, died June 15, 2007 in Wayne, NJ. Prior to her moving to NJ in October 2001, she was a resident of Josephine, Indiana, PA, for nearly 30 years.
A daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth (Tekely-Smith) Stoklosa, she was born July 30, 1916 in the Red Barn area of Homer City. Her ashes rest between her parent's graves.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Frey of Bloomingdale, NJ; Susan Luber of Kenwood, CA; and a son, Karl Lutschewitz of Randolph, NJ. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Keith, Christopher & Michael Frey, Karen Frey Suplee; Jennifer Lutschewitz Costin, Karl and Christopher Lutschewitz; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Costin of Raleigh, NC, and Dakota (Kody) William Suplee of Marathon, FL. Her third great-grandson, Kaden Reese Suplee was born March 2007.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willi (Bill) Lutschewitz in Oct. 1986; one brother, Stephen (Bucky) Stoklosa of Josephine, PA in 1984; three sisters, Gertrude Katsur of Flushing, NY in 2001, Mary Pardo of Montrose, PA in 2005, and Rosella Stoklosa of Red Barn, PA in 1930. Her one surviving sister, Christine Komorowski of Eatontown, NJ, has since passed away in Jan. 2007.
Betty was a beautiful woman and individual; she loved her family above all else. She also loved to garden and had the greenest thumb ever. Her next great passion was ballroom dancing with the Waltz and Polka as her most favorites. She was also an avid reader and loved to work crossword puzzles. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy filled with love of family, nature, music and dancing, and a nurturing of body and spirit.
