Melvin Earl McClure

B. August 25, 1937 - D. July 10, 2020

Melvin passed away peacefully on July 10, 2020, five and a half weeks before his 83rd birthday. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and son. He was a talented electrician and could fix nearly anything. He was tenacious and as a result was the first outsider (person who did not have a family member employed by DuPont) to be hired by E.I. DuPont Nemours in Old Hickory, TN. He was known by a variety of fond names with "Papa" being his favorite. He was happiest when rocking a child.

Melvin is preceded in death by his wife, Betty McClure, his son, Kevin McClure, his mother, Carrie Elizabeth McClure, his father, Jettie Earl McClure and granddaughter, Hannah Elizabethann McClure.

He is survived by his loving children, Deb Pitts (Ray) and Tim McClure (Christy).

Grandchildren: Brandon McClure, Ashley McClure, Avery McClure, Veronica McClure and Vivian McClure.

Nieces & Nephews: Dean (Julie) Boland, Brian Boland, Chris (Louann) McClure and Kim (Damien) Silak.

Grandneices/Nephews: Drew, Matthew & Brianna Boland and Lexus Smith.

Siblings: Betty Boland and Bill McClure. Daughter-in-law, Rhonda McClure.
