William Alcorn was born in the rolling hills of Estill County Kentucky to Albert and Matilda (Coffey) Alcorn. In 1886 he married Amanda Jenkins and they went on to raise a family of eight children, having lost an infant son. William was a life long farmer, having owned a farm in both Kentucky and Oklahoma. Like so many farmers, following the 1930's depression and draught which swept Oklahoma, William is now renting his farm land. By 1940 he had retired and was living in Pond Creek. He was a member of the local Christian Church. William died of injuries sustained in a car accident in South Haven, Kansas. My intention is not to break find a grave's rules, but as the original manager of this account is inactive and attempts to reach find a grave to have it transferred to me, in theinterest of updating this account, I have started a new one.
