Aaron Thomas Entrekin, 16, of Sumner crossed the finish line Wednesday June 17, 2020 after a courageous battle with leukemia at Egleston’s Children’s Hospital of Atlanta. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Unity Baptist Church. Rev. Brad Hughes and Rev. Charlie Brown will officiate. Interment will follow in Sumner City Cemetery. If attending, social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Born in Albany, Aaron had lived in Worth County for most of his young life. He was a kind young man that was loved by all that knew him. Aaron loved people and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and was always ready to help others. Aaron always had a smile on his face and a funny sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him.
He was a member of the JROTC Program at Worth County High School and intended to join the Army after graduation. Aaron was a kind-hearted person who had a sweet loving spirit that could be seen in his actions for others around him. He enjoyed working at the Piggly Wiggly of Sylvester helping customers. He loved Jesus and attended Terrell Baptist Church. Although Aaron was only with us for a short while, he left a lasting mark on the hearts and minds of those who knew him and will be missed. We love you Aaron Thomas.
Survivors include his parents, Tony and Shanna Entrekin of Sumner; siblings, Casey Entrekin of Camilla, Amanda Baker (Jonathon) of Daleville, AL, Anthony Entrekin of Camilla; Rikki Entrekin of Pittsburgh, PA and Jacob Entrekin of Sumner; his uncle, Ricky Entrekin (Beth) of Danville, GA; his aunt, Susan Carter (Glenn) of Alma, GA, maternal grandparents, Karen Tyree of Sumner and Bobby Cox of Albany along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
Aaron was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Brenda Causey, his paternal great parents, Donald and Peggy Lord and his maternal great grandmother, Lorene Reber,
The family will receive friends Saturday 1:30 to 3:00 PM at Unity Baptist Church.
