LaVerne Vogel was born on February 8, 1926 and died July 8, 2020. She was the daughter of Rosa Lee and Emerson Mitchel Connell. In 1966 she married Joe Vogel who passed away in 2012. She is survived by her step daughter Vicki and husband Doug Smith.
LaVerne's three brothers are Emerson, J.D. and Leroy. Her oldest brother Emerson survives. All three brothers served in WWII, as did her husband.
LaVerne has been a member of Tyler Street United Methodist Church since 1962. A highlight of her life was a church trip to Israel. She and Joe were both baptized in the Jordan River.
LaVerne will be remembered for her warmth, spirit and compassion. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
