Elsie Bertha Wernli, 99, of Taylor, formerly of Coupland died Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Taylor Care Center.
Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, August 30, 2007 at Providence Funeral Home.
Celebration of Life Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 31, 2007 at St. Peter's Church in Coupland. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Coupland.
Elsie was born on November 14, 1907 in Williamson County to Herman and Bertha (Mantey) Erdmann. She was a very loving and caring person that would help anyone. Elsie loved flowers and was an avid gardener. She was married to Fritz Wernli on October 22, 1925 at St. Peters Church in Coupland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fritz Wernli; her son, Reuben Wernli; grandson Ed Wernli; five brothers and a sister.
Elsie is survived by her sons, Don Wernli and wife, Sandra of Coupland and Buddy Wernli of Thorndale; daughter, Delphine Ging and husband, Calvin of Coupland; grandchildren, Jan Hagan and husband, Bill, Scott Ging and wife, Jo Ann, Kevin Wernli and wife, Cathy, Todd Wernli and wife, LaDonna, DeAnna Snell and husband, Rex, Tamara Wellings, Sam Wernli and wife, Mary, and Julie Zintl and husband, Joe; fifteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Scott Ging, Kevin Wernli, Todd Wernli, Sam Wernli, Rex Snell, and Bill Hagan.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the St. Peter's Church Memorial Fund.
