DEATH OF GEORGE COOK
George Cook, of Hilliard died last Friday evening, July 7th after a lingering illness.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the L.D.S. chapel in Evanston. Bishop Matthews presiding. Music was by the ward choir. Interment was in the Almy Cemetery beside the remains of his first wife.
Mr. Cook came to Uinta County 28 years ago from Nottinghamshire, England, and for eight years worked at the Almy mines. He then removed to Hilliard where he was engaged in ranching ever since. He was married twice, and by the first marriage he was the father of three sons and one daughter, William Cook of Knight, George Cook of Evanston, Edwin Cook of Star Valley and Mrs. Joseph Dunning of Evanston. By his second wife there were no issue, who before her marriage was Mrs. James Hutchinson whose first husband was killed in the Almy explosion.
The deceased has been a good father and citizen, and he has a large circle of friends who mourn his death.
He was 59 years of age.
