Mrs Ola Magdeline Johnson, age 42, of Route 6, B'ham, passed away Friday pm at the residence. Survived by the husband, J J Johnson; 3 daughters, Mrs Odell Finley, Misses Evelyn and Mary Johnson; 4 sons, J T, Ralph, Louis and Jerry Johnson; 3 brothers, Elbert Miller and Floyd English, Republic; Gwin English, Sandusky; 1 sister, Mrs Elizabeth Meadows. Funeral services Sunday, 3 pm, from Bivens Chapel Church. Interment adjoining cemetery. Remains will be laying in state at the church from 2 pm until time of service. Brown-Service, Norwood, directing.

Maggie was the daughter of Thomas Miller and Beulah P Mote. The only thing known of her father is his name found on her marriage record and her AL Deaths & Burials info. He was the first husband of her mother.
She married John Johnson on 24 July 1944 in Shelby Co AL. Her name on the marriage record is Ola Maggie Guthrie, therefore she had a previous marriage but the record has not been located. The children in her obituary obviously cannot be from her 2 year marriage to John J Johnson. It is unclear if they are her children by a prior marriage or her stepchildren.
