Joseph Benson Buhrman (Sept. 16, 1848- Dec. 27, 1922) was the sixth and last born child of Mary and Abraham Buhrman.

He married Sarah Elizabeth Lemon (whose sister later became the wife of William Buhrman) on May 4, 1881. Sarah was a daughter of Jonathan and Juliette Lemon of Botetourt County, born Dec. 28, 1850 and died Jan. 18, 1940.

Joseph was Sunday School Superintendent of Bethel Methodist Church for many years, President of Eagle Rock Bank from its organization in 1905, a member of the Virginia House of Delegates in 1895 and was re-elected. Later he was elected Botetourt County Treasurer where he served 16 years. He was a farmer and community leader.
