Don Charles McDaniel, age 88, of North Zulch, Texas and formerly of Odessa, Texas passed away on July 5, 2020 in Bryan, Texas
A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas
Don was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Johnny and Pearl McDaniel on April 14, 1932. He attended school in Konawa, Oklahoma. He was married to Betty Jean McDaniel. Together they owned and operated McDaniel Piano in Odessa. Don was perhaps best known for his incredible musical ability and the time he spent playing piano with Hank Thompson and The Brazos Valley Boys in the 1950's. He was a member of Sunset Heights Baptist Church in Odessa. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean McDaniel; parents, Johnny & Pearl McDaniel; sisters, Mildred McDaniel, Betty McDaniel Caton; brothers, Johnny, Bill, Paul and Doug McDaniel and children, Donnie Charles, Jr. and Sandy.
Don is survived by his daughters, Debbie McDaniel of Odessa and Teri Bruton and husband, William of Houston; son, Greg McDaniel and wife, Lucinda of North Zulch; grandson, Eric McDaniel of Hughson, California; granddaughters, Hallie and Ashley Bruton and great-grandchildren, Bryce, Robert, Malia and Paisley from Hughson, California.
