Saturday, December 10th, 1932 – Sunday, July 5th, 2020

Obituary
Norma Jean Isbell of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, December 10, 1932 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Jacob and Fern (Nee: Louks) Zweifel. She left from this life Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Cuba Manor at the age of 87 years.

Norma was united in marriage to Howard Lester Isbell, Jr. on Thursday, January 27, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri and they were the proud parents of Michael, Donald and Susan.

Norma spent her life taking care of her home and her family, regardless of what part of the world they lived in. They lived in many states and many countries, while Howard was a Sergeant in the United States Army. During their travels, Norma collected salt and pepper shakers and spoons.

She spent her life being a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan and her son Donald got to take her to one game at Busch Stadium. She spent part of the game yelling at the players and the umpires. Norma owned a tote full of St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues t-shirts.

She enjoyed playing bingo, watching “Days of Our Lives” and her favorite time of year was Christmas. Norma’s life revolved around her TV, coffee pot and dog “Trixie”. What she truly treasured most in life was spending time with her family and friends.

She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, great aunt, great-great aunt, sister-in-law and friend of many. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents Jacob and Fern Zweifel; husband Howard Lester Isbell, Jr.; four month old son Michael Isbell; siblings Bob Zweifel, Jack Zweifel, Norman Zweifel and Betty Wells; grandson-in-law Trevor Stannard, brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Those who are left to treasure her memory and to continue her legacy are her loving children Donald and wife Lisa Isbell of Cuba, Susan and husband Monty Luke of Cuba; three grandchildren Mandy Marie Stannard of Barlett, Texas, Ben and wife Rita Lee of Cuba, Jacob and wife Morgan Isbell of Cuba; two great grandsons Dylan Lee of Cuba, Blake Lee of Cuba, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A private family interment will be held at Fairclough Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
