She went to school in Elma, then resided in Montesano.
Muriel married Louis Dierick on her 18th birthday. They had three children, Robert L. (Lorraine) Dierick, Yvonne M. (Les) Louthan of Montesano and Edward J. (Evelyn) Dierick of Yakutat, Alaska; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; four sisters; three brothers; and a daughter-in-law.
Muriel was very active in the Brady School District and was a PTA President at one time. She was mostly a homemaker but did work at the Brady Grocery Store in the 1940s and 50s. She lived in Puyallup from 1960 to 1977. After retirement Louis and Muriel moved back to Montesano and managed duplexes on McBryde Avenue. She loved to travel before Louis passed away and also loved stories about the grandchildren.
Recently, Muriel lived at Channel Point Village in Hoquiam and later at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at the Wynooche Cemetery in Montesano.
