Harvey arrived back in Marshall County, WV to find that his wife Mattie had divorced him. Per news article: Harvery told Mattie that he was going to remarry her. Mattie said she was going to marry Cyrus Jones and Harvey threatened to harm Cyrus.

While Harvey went to obtain a license, Mattie went to her uncle James McVey Clouston for help. They obtained a marriage license on 7 Jan 1886, with Mattie & Cyrus Jones marrying on the same day at her uncle James's home. Interestingly, Mattie noted as "Widow" on the marriage license!

Harvey moved to Tacoma, Pierce, WA abt. 1892. He lived in hotels and was noted as a single traveling salesman. He died at age 71 yrs in Tacoma at the Bonneville Hotel, where he had lived for the past three years.
