Murray Randolph Tucker was born on December 1, 1916 in Fredericktown, Missouri, the son of Reverend Earl Austin "E A" Tucker (1874–1930) and his 2nd wife Bessie LaRue (Hubbard) Tucker (1882–1971).

Living in Memphis, Tennessee, he was married in Arkansas on April 19, 1942 to Ouida Agnes McIntyre (20 Aug 1916-26 Mar 2010), who was also a resident of Memphis when they were married, and her last residence was in Nashville.

Vice President of Nashville Transit Company and living at 4305 Wallace Lane in rural Nashville, Tennessee, Murray was 43 years old and married when he died of a coronary embolism at home on April 12, 1960. Burial was the next day in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
