[Thaddeus Beardslee served under Captain Coe and Lt. Beach Tomlinson in the Connecticut State Troops. According to his pension record (S14952), Beardslee was sent to fortify Brooklyn Heights in Dec 1775. In Jul 1776 he was deployed to New York when the British came and then was ordered to Fairfield in Apr 1777. From there he marched to Danbury and participated in the Battle of Ridgefield. In 1778 he was commissioned as an Ensign and also participated in the New Haven Alarm and marched to Fairfield. In Aug and Sep 1781 he guarded Stratford. Beardslee performed Patriotic Service and was one of 6 chosen as Tything men on Dec 26, 1780 and he also took the Oath of Fidelity on Sep 16 1777.
