The family included Mary Ann Bird, 40; Ann, 20; Sabina, 17; Ezra, 14; Martha Ann, 12; Sarah, 10; Susannah, 7; and William, 6. They traveled on the Fourth Hand Cart Company, commanded by Capt. J.G. Willie, to Salt Lake City, Utah.
Daughters, Sabina and Ann, left the company at Homestead, Iowa and did not complete the journey with their family. Sabina married married Edwin D. Smith, 14 Apr 1857, with Ann marrying Milo Mitchell on 12 Oct 1859, both in Iowa.
Mary Ann Fenn Bird married Ezekiel Kellogg on 1 Nov 1857 with the service performed by Elias H. Blackburn. She died at the home of her daughter, in Provo, Utah, on 22 July 1864.
