Anna Lou Marlow Adkins, age 72, widow of John Titus Adkins, of Pleasant View, Kentucky, passed away at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin, Kentucky on Monday, June 22, 2009.
She was born on October 12, 1936 in Newport, Kentucky and was the daughter of Earl D. Marlow and Cordelia Seale Marlow.
In addition to her parents, Anna Lou was preceded in death by her husband, John Titus, on January 17, 1990 and
her brother, Earl Seale Marlow, Sr.
Anna Lou graduated from Pleasant View High School as the Valedictorian of her Class in 1954 and married John Titus Adkins on July 13, 1954.
She was a member of the Bethesda Church of God at Emlyn, Kentucky.
She owned and operated Adkins Market at Pleasant View from 1946 until 1998.
Survivors are four children, John Cecil Adkins (Elizabeth) of Pleasant View, Frank Shannon Adkins (Veletta) of Franklin, Ohio, Terry Shane Adkins of Pleasant View and Cecelia Ann Armstrong (Jeremy) of Morehead, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Laura Adkins, Stanley, Sarah Jayne Adkins, Philip Titus Adkins, Eisha Ann Adkins, Stephanie Lee Lawson, Janet April Adkins, Jocelyn Ashley Adkins, and Liam Isaiah Armstrong; and special nephew, Earl Marlow, Jr.
Visitation was Wednesday, June 24, 2009 after 6:00 PM at the Croley Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Croley funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Sam Walden and the Reverend Joe Caddell officiating.
Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery at Pleasant View, Kentucky.
Croley Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
