Supply Company 5 Infantry ONG (Supply Company 166 Infantry) to Discharge Wagoner 1 Jan 1918. Champagne-Marne; Aisne-Marne; St Mihiel; Meuse-Argonne; Defensive Sector. American Expeditionary Forces 31 Oct 1917 to 25 Apr 1919. Honorable discharge 17 May 1919.
It appears from this same record that he originally enlisted in the National Guard and was then called into active duty.
He married Edith Lynch following his discharge and they had one son, Edward Charles Ruple. Their marriage ended in divorce and that Edith remarried.
In abt 1928 he married Agnes Wilbert and they became the parents of two sons: Kenneth Raymond,1929-1998, and James Robert,1935-1936.
Edward Henry Ruple died at age 40, leaving a wife and young son, Kenneth. Agnes likely re-married.
