Born in Brooklyn to Michael and Mary (Realmuto) Apollonio, Mike attended Central Needle Trades High School in Manhattan before serving two years with the United States Army in Germany. He moved his family to Dongan Hills in 1969 and worked in the garment industry before retiring in 1999. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joseph. He is survived by his wife, the former Geraldine Imburgia, with whom he celebrated their 60th anniversary last year; two sons, Steven and Michael; five grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Daniel, Alex, and Megan; and a sister, Joann.
The funeral will be Monday from Colonial Funeral Home, 2819 Hylan Blvd., with a mass at 10 a.m. in St. Ann's R.C. Church, Dongan Hills.
