Funeral Services for Katie Barondeau, age 9, of Clear Lake, SD will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake with Pastor Samuel Sunandkumar officiating.

Katie passed away due to an accidental death on Friday, January 9, 2009 in Clear Lake, SD.

The Honorary Pallbearers will be all of Katie’s Cousins. Active Pallbearers will be all of the members of the Clear Lake Volunteer Fire Department. Music will be provided by Phyllis Niemann, organist.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, January 12th at the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake and will continue Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. For online registry and condolences visit: www.housemanfuneralhome.com.

Katie Ann Barondeau was born September 27, 1999 in Watertown, South Dakota to parents Darren and Nancy (Wittrock) Barondeau. She was in Mrs. Groenhoff’s 3rd grade class at Deuel Elementary School.

Katie enjoyed reading, fishing, playing softball and swimming. Katie treasured her time spent with her friends and family. She lived life to the fullest and provided a ready smile.

Katie died at the age of 9 years 3 months and 13 days. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Kids Club, and the Girl Scouts. Katie was an organ donor and she also donated to “Locks of Love”.

Grateful for having shared Katie’s life are her parents: Darren and Nancy Barondeau and sister, Brandi Barondeau of Clear Lake; her paternal grandparents: Frank and Rhea Joyce Barondeau of Onaka, SD and her maternal grandmother: Christina Wittrock of Clear Lake; aunts and uncles: Brenda (Duane) Kwasniewski of Faulkton, SD, Randy (Janelle) Barondeau of Frederick, SD, Jay (Charlotte) Barondeau of Onaka, Jan Barondeau of Onaka, Greg (Jeryl Dee) Robinson of Sioux Falls, Vaughn Barondeau and Kristia Thomas of Onaka, John Wittrock and Larry Wittrock of Watertown and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Raymond Wittrock. Blessed be her memory.
