Thomas G. Lee, Home Builder
Thomas Girard Lee, 53, a Washington area builder for over 25 years, died yesterday at his office in Rockville.
A lifelong resident of the area, Mr. Lee was graduated in 1931 from George Washington University. He joined the firm of Meadowbrook, Inc. in 1953, where he was employed at the time of his death. Mr. Lee also worked independently as a contractor for custom-built homes.
Active in the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Washington, where he had been on the board of directors, Mr. Lee was chairman of the Home Show in 1949.
He recently had been appointed to the board of directors of the Montgomery County Home Builders Association.
Mr. Lee was a past president of the Betheda-Chevy Chase Lions Club and a director of the Kenwood Citizens Association. He was a member of Metropolitan Memorial Methodist Church. He lived at 9310 Burning Tree road, Bethesda.
Besides his wife, Dorothy, of the home address, he leaves a son, Thomas G., jr., of 4869 Battery lane, Bethesda, and a daughter, Mrs. William P. Gildea III of Baltimore. He also leaves a brother, Walter H., of New York; two sisters, Mrs. George B. Campbell of Long Island and Mrs. Robert L. Linz of Jacksonville, Fla., and one grandchild.
Funeral arrangements will be handled by the Robert A. Pumphrey Funeral Home, 7557 Wisconsin avenue, Bethesda.
