Her father was James Aloysious Strong (born 11 November 1895 in Richmond, VT) and her mother was Geraldine Veronica Strong (maiden name Call; born 10 August 1903, in Richmond, VT).
Barbara married Charles Arthur Beatty (born 5 November 1927 in Burlington, VT) on 2 October 1954 in Vermont. They had four children: Charles Beatty (Merritt Island, FL), James Beatty (Las Vegas, NV), Kathleen Bastion (Palm Bay, FL), and Barbara Bouthton (Bellingham, WA). Charles died in 1984. Barbara was devoted to God and was very active in her local church, Divine Mercy Catholic Church, in Merritt Island, Florida. Through her service at the church, she met Edmund Joseph Hanlon (who had moved to Merritt Island in 1986 - - he moved from Canton, MA, after his wife, Gladys died in 1984). Barbara married Edmund "Eddie" J. Hanlon on May 19, 1990, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church. They were married 14 years and Barbara was an excellent caretaker in the last year of Eddie's life (when he was dying with COPD). She was a loving and faithful person who will be remembered for her kindness and gentle manner.
Both Barbara and Eddie had previous arrangements to be buried with their first spouses and they honored those commitments.
