Lola Mae Johnson of St. Clair, MO, departed this life at Washington, MO, on June 27, 2020, having reached the age of eighty-six years, six months and twenty-eight days. Lola was born in Washington on November 29, 1933, daughter of Arthur Fred Banderman and Hattie Inez Banderman nee Moss. On September 21, 1957, she was united in marriage to Mont Herbert Johnson, Jr. and one daughter came to bless this union.

Lola is survived by her husband, Mont Johnson of St. Clair, MO; by her son-in-law, Paul Myre and wife, Catherine, of Wildwood, MO; by four grandchildren, Alli Myre and boyfriend, Terry Donovan, of Kansas City, MO, Zach Myre and girlfriend, Alyssa Scheele, of Kansas City, Allison Doering and boyfriend, Mike Stout, of O’Fallon, MO and Michelle Doering of Richmond Heights, MO; by one brother-in-law, Donald Johnson of Luebbering, MO; by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Lola was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Hattie Banderman; by her daughter, Cathy Myre; by her sister, Betty Zimmerman, and by her sister-in-law, Norman Jean Peterson.

Lola was a Christian and longtime member of Prospect Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. For many years, she had served the church as a Sunday school teacher. During her working years, she was employed as a secretary at St. Clair High School, retiring after twenty-nine years of service to the district. In her younger years, she had enjoyed sewing and making clothes for Cathy and herself. She loved to spend time outdoors and was happiest when she was helping Mont on the farm, baling hay and cutting grass. She was an excellent cook and many wonderful memories were created as her family was gathered for meals at her home. After retiring, she and Mont enjoyed traveling and they liked to take the family to Branson for vacations. Her daughter and grandchildren were truly her pride and joy and she cherished the time spent with grandchildren.

A devoted and loving wife, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 3, 2020, at Prospect Baptist Church, Lonedell, MO, with the Rev. Steve Hodges officiating. Interment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Clair, MO.
